Gentlewomans to Youds

Planning on doing this trip next week, its been a while!

Can anyone remember the rope length required?
Also do you need a Derbyshire key to lift the lid of Youds level from the inside?

You don't need any key and you'll need approx 50m rope

its worth making sure the picnic bench isn't on the manhole lid before you go in. That would ruin your day!

Seriously, it's a great trip and deserves to be a classic but don't forget your knee pads as I did. It was non-stop groaning from the squeeze onwards when I went down with Jon and Ric.

While I remember, Andy Tickle deliberately left a rope (orange Mammut, I think) in the climb-up section of Gentlewoman's a few months ago, as an aid (if required), but I hear it's been removed by persons unknown. Maybe they thought it was left by accident (or it's been nicked). No biggie, but just thought I'd point it out if anyone did remove it thinking it had been left behind.
