Hi all,
I thought I'd let you know that there's a fully funded PhD in environmental cave monitoring being advertised at the University of Durham (to start August 2010). So if there are any cavers interested in being paid to go caving in Belize and the Turks and Cacaos Islands (Caribbean) then this might be the opportunity for you!
The URL below links to an index page of Earth Sciences PhD descriptions at Durham, with the caving one being third on the list. The title is below.
Monitoring tropical cave environmental parameters: how does the cave hydrology and atmosphere respond to ENSO and hurricanes?

This is a fantastic research opportunity at a great university, and something that I was considering applying for myself, until I got my offer of a caving PhD at the University of Bristol.
I should point out that the closing date is around the 1st June 2010, with interviews to be held soon after, but from when I was talking to Dr Baldini (Project Supervisor); he said he may be willing to interview candidates who applied after the 1st June. But remember the timescale is tight, as the start date is August 2010. So don't procrastinate!
Best of luck!
Chris
