Giant Hole Chert Hall

Had a look at Chert Hall yesterday and found a rope hanging down it, does anyone know whats at the top of the rope, no description in COPD is it just a blind aven.

Went up there a few year back - you go up, and up, and up, and eventually get to a pleasant, airy spot at the top.  Doesn't go anywhere though, just pinches in - there's space for a couple fo bods, but that's about it.

At risk of stating the bloomin' obvious - when I went up the fixed ropes were just about acceptable, but to be safe(r) we took our own and rigged them for all but the first team member up / for the route back down...    Unless they've been replaced recently, they've been there for a few years!'

Indeed - must be 6 to 8 years ago I was there last, if not longer.  An interesting corner of Giants to explore tho'

How high is this aven, just out of interest? Either from the Crabwalk or Chert Hall floors?

from my memories of 10 years ago. As you go up the rope gets thinner. I remember seeing a bit of 7mm up there.
