Having now seen the advertisement, and being an irregular user of Gillette razor blades (I only shave once a week as I can't be bothered to do it any more regularly), I struggle to see what anyone had a problem with - it seems a perfectly sensible set of suggestions to me - but it didn't make me want to buy any new razor blades, as I still have plenty. So if the idea is a 'stealthy' product-promotion, it didn't work - on me at least. But it may well be that large brands and corporations are simply realising that they may have some socio-political leverage with consumers that politicians don't have - and although these campaigns may not sell any more product on the back of it, they're unlikely to sell less either, and may consider that the improvement to their 'moral responsibility' rating more than justifies the outlay.

Not being a twat to women just because they're women is a prerequisite of modern life, I would have thought. And the reverse is also true. And for everyone in-between. There's so few real differences between any humans in reality it's barely worth the argument.

I have decided that I'm going to try shaving with Coke. They've always put such a lot of effort into their ads. It's bound to produce a smoother chin. At Christmas time, I'll do it in the bathroom at my local John Lewis.
