I can understand the effort taken to get out of that huge shake hole old ruminator 
You have 2 ladders to climb with different spacing. (Or is it an optical illusion)
I remember oh so clearly climbing up The pitch in hell hole (70ft). I struggled like hell when the last 25 ft has 12inch spacing compared to the 10 inch spacing of the first 2 ladders.

Blimey! I though only rich people could afford 10" spacing.
