Green river in Canada!!

No one can figure how a river in Canada turned green. The article mentions Fluorescein! Youtube shows rocks in the river that look like limestone, anyone know this area?..

Norbert Casteret once turned several kilometers of the Garonne green with fluorescein.

He was testing the hypothesis that water sinking at the Trou de Toro in Spain, which was about to be diverted for a Spanish water project, was the source of the River Garonne in France. He carried a huge amount of the dye on mules up into the Pyrenees.

Langford is outside of Victoria, BC on the south end of Vancouver Island.  A few years ago Langford attracted some interest from cavers because a highway interchange destroyed some small caves.  Related?  Dunno...
