And after several months had passed, with no obvious progress, the following comment from the Editorial Column:

Why are the Guildford Caverns not yet open? What is the Committee in whose hands the matter was left doing? We are informed no difficulties now lie in the way of so desirable an object. If this be correct it is more than a pity to let the summer months pass away without offering the attraction to strangers and excursionists visiting Guildford these Caverns would be sure to possess. Many applications have been made during the past week or two to inspect the Caverns. How many visitors would they attract if they were really opened and well advertised?
