Hareshaw linn. Cave?

Northumberland. Walking up hareshaw linn today I spotted this gated entrance. I had a nose and it looked like it went back and off to the left. Does it go?

Went in this a few years ago before it was gated. It is an old mine (maybe for iron ore). Got in 60m or so and it got very low and wet, but memory a bit hazy
