Haunted hillocks

The rake that runs parallel to the main road is known as Needham's Rake, and before that was Brushfield Rake. I didn't know why the name had changed until someone came to Eyam Museum with a superb picture of the Needham family standing outside the house in about 1880, taken from the field on the other side of the valley. Must have taken a bit of coordination!

Auntie Ann Soulsby from the TSG used to say that she thought the cartgate in JH was haunted.  Ann now resides in a secure room at Eyam Dale House though ;)

Yeah, though given she does JH about twice a week, I reckon she's more than on top of it. Maybe she's the one actually doing the haunting?

I'll probably get a slap for that one at the weekend...
