Household here has ceased membership with 3 clubs.
That's poor.
I'd have thought you would have wanted to support your club's in these trying times

Club(s) have received ?10k more this year from the government than I have so nope. Gladly pay for something in return but otherwise, no deal.

We've spent a large amount of lockdown time (and some money) on improving our facilities whilst we had the chance - we'd never have the place closed for months at a time normally, and so the only silver lining to all this has been we could redecorate, renovate and improve. The closure to cavers has meant we've lost a significant amount of income this year, not to mention the loss of a good social life to many, including me. Additionally, as we're in the centre of the village, all the other shops and pubs that would benefit from our visitors will have noticed the drop in turnout too. All those chocolate flapjacks etc. So the grant will help keep us going and we can invest any surplus in further improvements, which will make the place even more fabulous when we re-open.

We've only had a couple drop out so far, and one of them is due to a long-distance relocation, but still got half the members to renew yet.

Maybe it's time to share a thought for the individual club members who will never renew their memberships.
