Hedgehog plea

Fulk

Out caving in the evening these last two Wednesdays, we've noticed quite a number of baby/young hedgehogs on the roads (specifically, the road to Bull Pot Farm and the road up Kingsdale), one of which, unfortunately, had recently been killed. Could we suggest that when out on the narrow country lanes that abound in our caving areas, we all keep a look-out for young/baby hogs (and adults, of course)?

Well done that man....hedgehogs are having a hard time of it.
Those in my garden were poisoned by the neighbour's slug pellets

My favourite British mammal :)

Agreed - beware of all wildlife.
Have recently had the pleasure of turning from Newby Head into Dentdale at dusk to encounter what was possibly a family of barn owls - 5 of them.
They were on the road as a group - most flew off but one was a bit slow to take to flight - a fledgling perhaps.

My daughter has been working at an animal rescue center for a couple of months now, and they are overwhelmed by hogs atm! Good job baby bird season is largly over as they'd have too much!
