AS a matter interest is the Art Gallery accessible without tackle from White Passage. I have casually looked but the first route I looked at appeared to come out on the bend upstream of the bridge. It' s a part of GP I haven't photographed. I am sure Graham must know the answer. The published survey is useless on detail!

The Art Gallery can be free-climbed into from White Passage, even I have done it. A rope for the return is a good idea, though. Despite the name it is not pretty, gallery is but art isn't.

Which published survey are you thinking of, Pete? There are five published versions.  ;) I agree we need to add some detail to the latest one, however, as far as G.B. is concerned

I am referring to the one published with the first Charterhouse report.

Ah, that one probably had the least detail, apart from the very first one, that is.

I have done the art gallery via white passage - it is a bit of a 'no handholds or footholds' slope.
Had to be done though (just once!).

Biff & I crawled along Art Passage a few years ago to see if it would be feasible to do srt down into the Gorge,
the passage near the "window" was quite tight for us porkers,
so we retreated. But you are very slim Elaine, like a greased whippet, you should slip through.
