Just noticed this article about a new form of myxamatosis that's jumping from rabbits to hares, and the researcher involved is asking folks to report dead hares. We may come acrosss them more than some folks might. I found a fresh dead one at the base of a 30m shaft on Sunday, which jogged my memory, but retrieving that now would be a swine, and death was almost certainly caused by falling. But if you find one in a field matching the situation described it might be worth passing on the details:
