Have you got the latest flash player installed?

Does it make any difference if you click the vimeo link to open their web page?

Once again Hidden Earth was a superb event with barely a glitch across the whole weekend.

I'd just like to echo the thanks given above to Les, Wendy, the whole of the organising team, and of course the lecturers as well.  I can only begin to imagine how much effort you all put in so that I can turn up, have a great weekend and go home at the end leaving (no doubt) a huge amount of clearing up to the very same people who slaved away setting it all up in the first place.

Many, many thanks.

I would second that each year the organisation becomes slicker

Wow....I'd love to know how he did that...sparklers and lasers on long exposures?? I've done some light-painting type stuff with my purple laser (above ground)...hmm maybe I need to take it below ground....I love seeing photography from others, gives me ideas and inspires!

Also...dang someone did do a stopmotion for caving. Darnit! I literally just over a week ago when planning a photography trip to Stephen's Gap here in the states thought "oooh....I can do a great stopmotion video...I've never seen a stopmotion video of caving!" and have been working out how I want to set it up. LOL someone beat me to it! NO FAIR! lol.

I thought Rob's show was marvellous. The caver playing with fire was genius. Very East European. The whole weekend went like clockwork and it's a shame Monmouth can't be a more regular venue - but I suppose we have to rotate (y)

Yes, we have to rotate. :)

Monmouth is a long way for some of us. I was exhausted by the time we got home on Sunday night, and then I had to get up early to play a crumhorn.

Sue and I thoroughly enjoyed listening to your amusing tales at the dinner on saturday evening mrodoc. A fine evening in fine company, and the after dinner speaker was absolutely brilliant too.  (y)

I'm not sure how exactly it's run and maybe you do this already, but I had an idea for next year (slightly selfish I may admit) but at art galleries and such, when people put art on display not uncommon to put a price next to it too, and let people purchase it. Maybe do something like that for HE? Let people buy the art and photos on display. It might also encourage more entries, as it can be expensive to make prints, or for the materials for the artwork, etc. so if people knew they had a chance of selling it (which let's admit, it's fun to get recognition for our work to the extent someone likes it so much they buy it!) might encourage more folk to try. And...offset costs... Of course people wouldn't be allowed to take it home until certain time on the last day so it could remain on display.

The after dinner speaker, Prof Noel Dilly, was awesome. He is one of the best speakers we have had for many years. I was laughing so much I was crying. An exceptional after dinner speaker!

There was art for sale on one or two trade stands, Amy, but the competition stands are a different thing altogether. The art is identified so if anybody was really interested in buying some, I am sure the creators could be buttonholed over the weekend to see if it was possible.

I am sure I saw some prices next to some of the entries for the art works so perhaps people are already doing this...

Aha! Now I know who Gerbil007 is. I also made a positive identification of Hatstand. I am glad you never got to hear Chris's lizard story - destroys all my street cred. And, yes, Noel Dilly was excellent.
