good news: Lewis Hamilton winning - and also coming 5th, who'd a thought it - a Brit praying for rain.

While it was terrible news that Felipe Massa was stuck on the head by a suspension spring at great speed and has undergone brain surgery
I really hope he pulls through, poor barstad,
the good new is that Michael Schumacher is back, driving for Ferrari.
That should give Button and Hamilton someone good to race with.

Great news!!  I've managed to get my old Scalextrix track working again!!  The bad news is I've got to take one of the cats to the vet to remove a car from his ear.

Potential Good News for Stroke Victims

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/health/healthnews/6261688/Cheap-antibiotic-could-revolutionise-stroke-treatment.html
Researchers have found that the use of drug immediately after a stroke can reduce damage to brain cells by as much as two thirds.

Strokes are blood clots in the brain that starve the surrounding cells of oxygen eventually leading to their death and then to irrevocable brain damage.

The immediate injection of antibiotic minocycline protects the cells and reduces the swelling, saving many from losing brain cells.

It is particularly effective on nerve cells that process and transmit information in the brain.

Dr Cesar Borlongan from the University of South Florida, who led the team, said the drug was already available as it was used for acne and arthritis.

He said the results showed the technique could be much ?more effective? than current treatments.

I've just slogged my guts out at a contact centre in the middle of nowhere for 10 hours a day over 2 weeks so they can offer the unemployed a better service and got ?25 worth of HMV vouchers as a special one-off bonus which I'm going to exchange for a couple of extreme technical death metal albums, probably by Behemoth and Meshuggah, so I'm in a good mood when I get to work.  Who says being a civil servant doesn't have it's rewards?
