Flipping heck. You've all gone soft. What's wrong wi't chippy?  Mind, is it still there?  Had a generously proportioned gentleman in charge in 't late eighties as I recall. The Bridge was still a pub then rather than a 'Mews'. Sad times we live in.

The chippy is still there, not been in ages so can't comment on the portions.

Would that have been Keith?

Around that time a major extension was made to downstream Hurtle Pot by cave divers. They entered a massive airbell chamber and it got called "Order Your Chicken From Keith Airbell" after a sign which was up in the Ingleton chippy.

There you go - another piece of Dales caving history.

Quite possibly.  'e were a big lad and there was a lot going on around Chapel le Dale then. Brilliant name for an airbell!

I was reading the latest Hurtle survey the other day (new NS sump index -it is excellent) and did wonder where OYCFK came from. Thank you
