I saw sommat about some top female iceclimber who has sommat similar but with a hose down her trouser leg since often the temp is -50 and she dont enjoy getting her ass out. Sounds top.

That hose sounds like a good setup, at least thats discreet unlike that big yellow peezee thing!

It has been known. A guy I know has done some big wall climbing in Yosemite and there they peed into a bottle and then tipped it down the face - OK for his team but not for the Swiss following them about 100m below. He hit them twice, blaming the unpredictable breezes on the wall, also because of the distance by the time it hit them he had already stopped emptying the bottle. The pee must have been super strong as they were limited to 1 litre a day (for an 8-10 day climb). :tom:

Also had to deal with their crap. The traditional method was to crap into a bag and just chuck out from the face (and if at night set fire to the bag first for extra effect). Not surprisingly the National Park authorities frown on this somewhat and now ask climbers to pack their crap out. Of course as a true Brit rather than buying a ready made "device" he built one from a 1m length of drain pipe and some end caps. As I'm sure you can guess the bottom (!) fell of the drain pipe about 5 days into their second climb sending its contents straight down a thousand or more feet - fortunately no one below them this time. :shithappens:

Well just looked at the link ! erm Ladys lets face it you have to pee, so whats the problem? ive no prob if a gal needs to squat !

But maybe its time that a undersuit was desinged with that in mind ie a zip that goes a little further than the blokes on a two way so at least if they choose not to wear a bra every thing is not on display

Any thoughts female cavers?

I think these things were first designed for female skiers who didn't want to freeze it all by dropping their pants at -30C. There are more than one brand available I believe. It's probably not cold enough in Britain for them to make sense there.

also looks as if there would be leakage problems...maybe it would get easier with practice...

yeah, just squat...only problems is when you're caving with a load of guys on quite along trip in a wet cave and they all take a piss if they need, but you can't cos you'd have to take off most of what you were wearing to get into a squatting position that wouldn't mean a wet furry...by which time you'd have frozen your tits off!!!

i think my bladder contorl is getting better since i've been caving, i rarely even feel i need a pee when i'm down a cave and squatting when you're outside is easier

There used to be an undersuit with a 3-way zip that you could crap in whilst wearing. That was a few years ago, but surely someone must still do one? You still have to take your oversuit down though!

A mate of mine had a funny tummy, needed a dump before entering Swildons, and scurried off to relieve himself. When some walkers disturbed him he quickly pulled back on his oversuit and ran over to us. We ran off nearly as fast - he had crapped on the inside of his oversuit before pulling it back on.

Ive got and undersuit that has been made with women in mind - i.e - the zip seems to go quite far round. Only thing is - its a right pain doing it back up (all the way round) after you've lobbed it out and relieved yourself.

Dragon still do (I think) an expedition furry with the zip that goes all the way under. And as for crapping, I know someone (who shall remain nameless) who managed to take a dump in the hood of his oversuit, and another who got a sudden dose of the squits underground and found a new use for his darren drum. And before you ask, it wasn't me in either case!

I think all of the Dalesware varieties of furry suit have the three way zip system, which goes all the way to the top of your bum. A competitive price too!

I know the one I have does (the Kingsdale I think), or at least did - after 5 or so years the zip is buggered and don't zip quite as it should!

Must admit, I've never needed to use the round the back zip..
