Oh I get it now! A place of worship for medium size mammals. :sneaky: Where are the mud formations? Or were they not mud formations?

They're not mud formations - they're calcite; I think the term is subaqueous botryoidal stal (or something similar); they're in the grotto, RHS, near ground level, under the low arch.

What's my prize?

You get to bring the bag of rubbish out of Swildon's Hole that was collected today from the other side of the Black Hole; presently the bag is just downstream of the climb up into Tratman's Temple. Martin G and I couldn't be arsed to carry it any further so left it for someone else to bring to the surface.... that'll be you, Cookie! Good man.  (y)

What's your prize? You get to put up the next mystery cave. Didn't you ever play 'it' at school?

After some rummaging through My Pictures ...

After figuring out how to upload images ...

I like the Reservoir Hole pics!

I don't remember seeing the skull when I went there, but that was a very long time ago. Is the cave still in a pristine condition? I remember being impressed by how well looked after it was.

It is still in a very good state despite some twat putting their fingers in moonmilk in topless aven (LHS in scallop) - which led to Dr. Stanton banning trips for a year in response.

Perhaps there's something to be said for withholding access benefits following damage? After all, isn't it "access versus conservation" after all?

I remember seeing the finger marks in the moonmilk - in the early 1980s I think. I may even have a photo of it.

So who is posting up the next mystery cave?

It's meant to be me but I have just realised that the handy 'include image with post' option has vanished in this new version of the forum.

:sneaky:
Step 1. Place your picture somewhere publicly available on the web.
Step 2. Put the url to your picture between image tags. Eg [ img]http://myserver.com/myimage.jpg [ /img].

Step 1 is the tricky one. Once Bubba has fixed the Gallery your picture could be placed there. In the mean time a different solution is required. If you have some of your own webspace you could ftp the image there. What I did though (having had a sneaky look at what Cap'n Chris was doing) was to use www.imageshack.us. This site allows you to upload and store images for free and forever (allegedly). Once uploaded it displays the text you need to cut and paste into a forum posting to show the image.

I didn't find the ImageShack website layout particularly clear, but with a little bit of playing around you'll figure it out. I downloaded the toolbar, I'm not sure if its mandatory, but it makes life easier. I recommend registering before uploading images, so the system knows the images belong to you. That way you'll be able to find them again in the future.
