• Help us work out the future of the Inglesport Café

We've been trading since 1977 and next year will be our 50th anniversary.

The café has been part of that for a long time, running quietly in the background for years, and we don't think it always gets the credit it deserves as a genuine community hub. But we need to be straight with you: the café is under real pressure, and we’re not sure of the best path forward.....

Jewel Cave Discoveries.

The Old Ruminator

"On November 10, a team of five explorers entered the cave and spent four days finding new passages near Deep Camp. They began in walking-sized passages that were first discovered in January. The passages are on the southwestern edge of the cave, heading south.
One of the new passages, called "The Lion's Den," has strong airflow and features unique cave popcorn formations. Another passage is unusual because it goes for 750 feet in one direction with no side passages at all. It's about 20' tall and 3' wide over the entire distance. It was named "Fruit by the Foot" because of the quick, fruitful yield of survey footage, and because it was so easy to map compared to a more complex passage.
Over 6,600 feet of new passages were mapped, and many open "leads" remain for future exploration trips. With the new discoveries, the current length of Jewel Cave is 218.78 miles!"
