I know John will really be missed by a lot of people.

I haven't checked my email in a while and was really sad and shocked to hear about his passing. I knew him through the Wealden. The first time I met John was one of our AGM's. He came over to me and I was instantly impressed with the amount of stuff he'd done, his variety of hobbies and the places he had been.

He was a top bloke, always fun to be around. I never saw him tired or grumpy and he had a smile that could melt ice.

Dear all,

The arrangements for Johno's wake have now been finalised.

After the service at Worthing Crematorium his wake will be held at the Charmandean Centre in Worthing (on A27 between Sainsbury and Broadwater).

Everyone is welcome to come and raise a glass to John. There will be money behind the bar (which should hopefully be enough for everyone to have one drink). You can then pay for extra drinks at the bar (tea/coffee/soft drinks also available) but please note they only accept cash. There will also be a finger buffet.

There is plenty of parking at the Charmandean Centre and free parking in the surrounding roads. Directions and more info can be found here:

I would just like to record that Friday proved a special tribute to Johns memory.
It was nice to see so many cavers and CDG members present.
