Be warned.....Members of Derbyshire Bat Group have had their car tyres slashed whilst parked up on Salters Lane for (I assume) bat surveys at Jugholes.

That's bizarre - do you get the impression the damage was caused specifically as the vehicles belonged to the bat group? Just wondering if it's any vehicles that are at risk, as it could be a more general grievance. I know there's been some argy-bargy up there regarding parking recently, but can't imagine it would lead directly to this. Presumably it was a hellish job getting that lot sorted out in the dark with recovery vehicles etc.?

Dunno phil. Unlikely that they were targeted for being the bat group as they don't have logos all over the cars. Interesting to note though that the types of vehicles mentioned are also cars typically owned by cavers (berlingos etc) and maybe someone thought they were cavers.......? Ill try and find out more.......

When you say typical cavers cars, you mean shit heaps?

Usually yeah. Apparently the farmers son was also there and his car got done too. 18 tyres in all. Some proper bell ends about so be careful.
