    An informative discussion

Recently there was long thread about the BCA. I can now post possible answers to some of the questions, such as "Why is the BCA still raising membership prices when there is a significant amount still left in its coffers?"

Bubba kindly put up some more pictures on this Forum's Gallery; I'd like to do some more photography trip(s) soon in readiness for the Hidden Earth club stand. Are there any club volunteers who have a high boredom threshold and a pretty face?

Not sure I can do the pretty face bit, but I can do inane grinning. Are you taking your camera at the weekend?

Quality, not quantity - I don't intend to take thousands of pics on low res, just a handful on high res setting.

Cap 'n Chris...
If you want to practice taking pictures do you want to setup a trip with myself and my camera equipment (flashes etc) might ask mole if he can come along (havent asked yet) box is a easy place just to practice in or someplace else?

Some different ways could be practiced such as panos, multiflash, painting, other people with flashes, etc. Just a thought. Thought I'd offer.

I'd quite like to get some pics of someone coming through Swildon's sump 1 from both sides but it might require re-doing quite a few times and I think it's a bit much to ask someone to do multiple dives; also, I'd like to get a shot of the Black Hole and the approach to sump 2.

Two weeks' time is the BCRC Weekend (wot I'm attending) so can't do much then, sorry!

I'll be up on the weekend Chris, when was you thinking of doing the photos?...I might even be willing give the sump a go for you. ( but only if you give me a cuddle to warm me up after.. )

Chris: re sumps, its do-able but you need to find someone really stupid.
Hence why when i wanted to do something similar down Knotlow and Peak, Far Sump, I was underwater and other people were takign the photos.

My boyish good looks would add a touch of class to your photos 8) I could do the Black Hole, doing the sump mutiple times could be a problem...although I have a shiny new neofleece to try out! Would you prefer someone who could do evening trips though?

I'll do the Sump's Chris, as my 5mm Speleopro Warmbac keeps me sooooooo warm, spent 55 minutes in Sump2 last week going in & and out in & out in & and out in & out in & and out in & out in & and out in & out in & and out in & out in & and out in & out ..... etc.

All joking aside i have no problems spending large amounts of time in the Sumps, if you want some help let me know.

Neofleece  you will get VERY cold VERY quickly.

I am not a member, but don't mind helping other people out.

Stu.

I have a 5mm Warbac wetsuit as well, but I have found it a bit inflexible and too hot for caving. I have only tried it on short trips and it annoyed me enough. I have happily splashed around in sump 1 in a normal fleece before, and also wore it on a trip to Stoke Lane Slocker last January which involved lying (mostly) in icy cold water for two hours, I got pretty cold but not unbearably so; indeed my extremities were most affected!
People have highly recommended neofleeces to me for normal aqueous caving, as you have the flexibilty of a fleece with the extra protection of a wetsuit.

Swings & Roundabouts, horses for courses, it takes all sorts, it's your choice, whatever turns you on, at the end of the day it's up to you. I wore a furry for diving sump 2 but my seal-fat kept me toasty.
