Large cavern in Weardale?

Some of these farmers' stories of lost caverns are worth following up.

The (re)discovery of Magnetometer Pot springs to mind as an example.

There are a number of shakeholes marked on the OS 25000 map in the area to the south (and higher than) aforesaid farm. Satellite imagery shows that some of these may even be taking small streams. Of interest is a feature at lat/long 54.716834,-2.163910 where a field wall appears to have been "bent" around something. A project for "simonsays"? Weather is pretty good for such fun and games right now.....?!?

Just found this while googling someone else so dont know if anyone will even pick up on this, the area to the south west is one of the deepest sections of limestone in weardale, top of the swinhope valley near the ski tows has 4 recorded pots and a couple of caves, none of them very big but numerous streams dissapear into more shakeholes that run in a line around the hill, theres also swinhopeburn head mine in the bottom of the valley and a very old mine thats now collapsed about 30 meters in halfway up the side of the valley.  Best thing is that there are numerous shakeholes with large holes appearing in the bottom of them, we did a little exploratory digging there last summer and theres a lot more that we need to go back to. Greenlaws mine is round on the north side of the hill as well and the shakeholes follow the hill all the way round.
