Little Neath Dodgy Water

Was down Little Neath on Sunday 31st May and we noticed the water nearer the entrance was a milky white colour. There was also a strong smell of solvent down there. Don't know if something was spilt and has since passed through but still thought it might be useful to make it known.

I'll mention it to Elsie if I remember.  There was a problem there a while ago whereby some tosser dumped a vehicle into the river or a sink (I can't remember) and that properly polluted the cave for a while. Many years ago a mate of mine got Weil's disease from this place so always best not to gargle the water!

Downstream of a farm, frequent dead-uns in the water, hardly surprising. I have crawled through dead sheep in this place more times than I care to remember.

A army instructor had a look Monday/Tuesday and it appeared to be clear.
Interesting the pollution was not reported as the usual diesel smell.

Could well have been diesel. Can't remember what the smell was exactly but it was getting us high. Not bad for a freebie but still can't be good for the cave...

Not usual characteristics of diesel.

Well whatever it is I get the impression it shouldn't be there. Anyone been down since and noticed anything different?

We were there last weekend and all was fine!
Even quite a few little fishes down there and in Bridge! (had lots of fun trying to catch them... Gollum style! )
