Llanelly Quarry Pot

Please excuse me if for repeating this; I'm sure a posted this last week but can't find it any where....

During the Christmas cold snap Llanelly Quarry Pot was regularly buried in ice by what appeared to be fairly substantial frozen waterfalls with the entrance being plugged be solid ice.  Since the thaw there has been a collapse and the entrance is now blocked by rocks and spoil.

to enter the cave at this time would require a bit of work with a spade and crowbar and may take some time if it is blocked further down.

Was there with Aberystwyth CC today...while we cleared out enough spoil to make the entrance accessible again, a fair bit of work still needs doing. The biggest problem is the tin roof collapse at the back, thus diverting a steady drip into the first chamber and creating a slurry mix that flows down the rift. At the moment there isn't too much spoil from outside in the cave, but a new roof is probably needed.

Hi - Does anyone know the current state of the entrance? I am planning a trip next month. Thanks.

sorry... not walked the dog that way recently and will not get an opportunity again this month.  The way the weather is looking there is a good chance that it will change Daley and could be choked with ice if nothing else.
