HI
Looking for any caving groups willing to let rusty guy join them for a few trips.
I have my own gear (although lamp is knakered, but can get new one)
Can meet up. Have Car. Have all SRT Kit.
In past done Giants, P8, Lathkill, Swinso, (About 10 Times, OFD, Daren Cilai (although never again)
Very Fit. Easy Going.
Work long week hours so don't get time for club meetings only really get Weekends to do much.

Why is it when people get married and say it won't stop them doing stuff, you never see them again.

Thanks Guys!

If you live within easy reach of the Peak District, you could always try the Orpheus Caving Club. See http://www.orpheuscavingclub.co.uk

Hi,

You are some way distance from ourselves (Hertfordshire)

You are probably best to contact one of the Peak District clubs. There was (is?) a club in Birmingham, but I don't know if it stil lexists

http://w01-0504.web.dircon.net/pdc/caveclub.htm

..has a list.

Some of the clubs are quite large, others are just a couple of people who meet up, but you'll find all are welcoming to new members.

Hi! Brum boasts a few clubs...with varying degrees of activity! WMCEG and Dudley...check out their websites, both quite active I think. Cave and Crag...not so active but friendly and have a lovely hut in N Wales. Orpheus. with it's lovely hut in the Peaks is only based up the road in Ashbourne. Good Luck. :D

Dudley: You meet at Ruiton Windmill don't you. (I used to go to Ellowes Hall, in pre-caving days.)

Are you the guys who do the limestone mines on the Wrens Nest etc. ?Always fancied a trip down there but have never got around to it...

Well I can't claim to have been a member in those days but yes they used to Wren's Nest is a bit of a sore point. Mostly now filled in by the local authority with funding from the EU. No access as in seriously high fences and security guards on site 24/7. The only access is via the canal trips from the Black Country museum site. Ok as boat trips in a show cave go.

Googling - I found a few refs. to Swindon Speleological Society but no email or contact no.

But on the ofd website visitors book I found this

"Mark Hobbs - wrote
Great site! Looking forward to a trip this coming tuesday :)
Happy christmas from everyone at Swindon caving club. Thanks and Happy Christmas and a Peaceful New Year to everyone too! Peter
"

So I'd suggest contacting Peter Collings-Wells at the OFD site and see he can give a contact for Swindon CC or Mark Hobbs
