Caving Supplies presently doing good prices on Super Avanti Harnesses and jammers but may I humbly suggest that if you don't already know how to use the kit that you get that knowledge before purchasing anything.

I would recommend you also look at Bernies Cafe in Ingleton. Their prices are usually very good. Plus you can check on Inglesport next door (who also let you use their climbing wall to set things up if you buy th ekit off of them.

Some pieces of equipment involve choices: which harness, which type of chest harness, jammer with handle/jammer without handle, integral footloop/safety link or separate footloop and safety link. See if you can do a bit of research first and ask caving friends on opinions before stumping up any of your cash and then finding out you would have preferred an alternative to the items sold to you.

... if you know how to use the kit, you'll have a better understanding of which component parts are suited to your preferred set up, thereby enabling you to make your purchasing decisions.

bernies cafe also have a seperate bernies rope access site with a better selection and slightly cheaper prices than the caving site, you have to add VAT though.

Hi Russ

I dont know how much SRT you have done - I assume that as you don't have your own kit yet, then perhaps not a lot? So you need to try out different combinations first to find out what suits you best before you buy.

If you are around for the next MCG members weekend 08/03/08 I will ask members to bring some SRT kit with them and you can try before you buy.

I will be at Nordrach for the next members weekend Martin, would be great to have a look at some different kit.
I have been introduced to S.R.T but will need more training before I use it for real, not ready for Titan yet!
