Lost a Fiddle?

A violin has been left at Whitewalls, the hut of Chelsea Speleological Society. Not the normal type of thing to be left in a caving club hut! It has been sitting in the club’s library for the last 10 years, and enquiries have failed to reveal its owner. If it belongs to anyone on this forum, sing out quick, ‘cos we will liquidate it and use the funds to buy more caving books!

Have we any advance on a violin? What other unusual objects have been left at caving huts by persons unknown?

That really is a different thread. Post it if you want but please do it separate to this posting as we want to find owner of said Fiddle without having to trawl through countless replies about folks having forgotten this and that. Cheers.

We had a Bible left at the Orpheus Cottage. I had to post it back to its rightful owner but she did refund the postage.

We also once had a complete set of clothes: trousers, shirt, pullover, jacket, etc. left. Did make us wonder what the person went home wearing ...

Haha, you waited a decade but can't ignore some replies that are jocular, you're a barrel of laughs.

It's not mine, I might buy it though when you auction it for cave rescue.

Thanks for your kind comment. When we sell it we will use the dosh to buy books for the CSS library, and on the subject of books may I recommend you buy Martyn Farr’s Hidden Realms if you have not got it already. Oh b*gger, there I have gone off thread! Barrel of larfs indeed.

Orpheus had a certain reputation for being angels!

Yes, you did say that, a worthy cause, I'm rooting for no one claiming ownership and no millionaires looking to buy a forgotten violin too ;-)
