Its the quarry in Loxton, its marked on the os map of the area.  Directions from New Inn pub at Cross. Drive past pub, follow road (3+ miles) past Webbington ( posh hotel,on your left).  Over motorway bridge, go past Post Office, garage, over small bridge, up little hill, opposite turning for Church turn left up steep hill, follow up, bear left when you can see bear limestone, should be in quarry! (y)

If all that sounds complex, I can meet you at the New Inn pub at 10.15am on Sunday. (y)

Tree monkey forgot to mention after The Webbington, infamous for
"Do you want to be in my gang, my gang" now in prison in Vietnam,
you then pass the very Lost World. :-\

World of bygone gypsies.

SITE VISIT: Sunday 18th February 2007:
Treemonkey, LesW, Cookie and Me.

A recce in advance of proposals to shore up the entrance to this rediscovered Mendip gem, which is a bit "Ken Pearce" and akin to a Charge of the Light Brigade, vertical stylee.

Les was given a short straw from my box of short straws and hastened to inspect the Mullan Face - a wall of shrapnel and ammunition which gained its name in a legend which has now become Mendip folklore.

Les courageously kitted up in protective gear to inspect the wizard's-sleeve-like entrance

Hmm....

Cookie and Treemonkey desperately try resisting the temptation to throw stones.

Conclusion?: put pipes in.
Ease of task?: Not really.
When?: Are you volunteering?

I think you may find Tony from Suffolk, that a cave has to first be lost in order
:doubt: (hundreds of years later) for it to be found

I think it is quite careless of people to leave caves just lying around. No wonder they get lost  ::)
