It is around 3 to 4 hours from the entrance, depending on fitness, and a bit longer on the way back if fatigue sets in! When I did it it took around 10 hours, although it was phototography trip so there was some sitting around!
Hi,
it was ok, I wouldn't say it was superb. Most of the trip seemed to involve lots of boulder hopping. However there are lots of good crystal formations thoughout the cave: Midwinter Passage (?) and the Snowball formation were quite impressive. The Last Sandwich is a bit of a classic piece of low passage and quite enjoyable. I also enjoyed the entrance series!
Four hours each way is probably about right, but if you don't know where you are going, you could easily double that. Assuming you know your way to the start of the Last Sandwich, and you have a survey, you shouldn't have a problem.
In my view it is worth the extra 45 minutes there and back (plus 5 mins searching when you get there!) to see The Geryon. It has its own little logbook and is spectacular.
