Ah, that's a shame. I remember last time I was there thinking that left wall would give a lovely SRT pitch if, of course, the rock was good enough...We also looked at trying to set bolts for a reasonably nice SRT hang on the left hand wall, but found the rock to all be rather hollow.
It can always be bailed but that adds quite a bit of time to your trip.The problem with Swildons is that I believe Mud Sump is flooded at the moment which takes out a large portion of the cave, obviously including the short round. So in terms of what I'd recommend a visiting caver in Swildons at the moment you've got a shortish trip to Sump 1 or 2 or a longer trip if you including Blackhole Series. Since the short round is unavailable (which would obviously be first choice) for a true Mendip experience I'd recommend Eastwater 13 pots (figure of 8 exchange) and Longwood (weather dependent).
