For those of us not lucky (although anyone affected by subsidence might not be so enthusiastic) enough to live in mining areas there is always hope from artists like this

That happened to me about five years ago when a sandstone capping gave way when I stepped on it. Fortunately I managed to swing my arms out to stop myself falling right in. We now have a nice garden feature.
