new oxlow extensions - empt required

Afternoon all,

Planning a trip into new oxlow to look at extensions, once reaching the bottom of oxlow I know there is an up pitch (rope length required?) Last time we went we didn't take harnesses past this point. This then leads to a crawl and then a down pitch (is there an in situ rope? if not, rope length required?)....not been past this point. Any more kit required?

From memory the up pitch requires a ~20m rope for a pull through.

Gear beyond depends on where exactly you're trying to go. If to the end of "New Oxlow", that'll mean to the sump before PB Chamber. For that you'll need to go down that pitch you mention, North Pitch, a 15m rope will be ample. Then it's just crawling and stomping to the sump.

If you want to go to the 2014 Eldon extensions, in North Chamber (25m before the pitch down) head up the black rope and follow your nose, mostly upstream. If you get passed the rifty squeeze in the roof you've made it to the new stuff. You'll need SRT still to go up a short pitch and then down a short pitch (both rigged) to get into Nights Templar rift.

Tried to get into Crusader passage on Sunday. Route to the awkward rifty squeeze is fairly straightforward, but there are a couple of flat out grovels before the aven with the rifty squeeze. Getting through the aven is a challenge, we didn't make it but will be back for a second go.
