Rumour has it that the NPC Journal is complete, but I didn't spot it at Hidden Earth. Is it available yet? :D
Thanks.

The new Northern Pennine Club Journal has just been printed and will be available to anyone from 1st December. (Members of the club get first dibs meanwhile.) Cover price will be ?16 if you collect from the Dales or arrange caver post.
(A small extra charge will be needed if you'd like it posting via Royal Mail.)
It will hopefully also be on sale in various caving outlets in the Dales.

Details of how to get a copy directly from the NPC have yet to be finalised but we'll let everyone know as soon as that's sorted.

Its 196 pages are almost all exploration stuff, mainly (but not exclusively) in the Dales. There's a particularly fine colour image on the front cover from master photographer Clive Westlake. We hope you'll enjoy reading it!

This new NPC Journal is now available to everyone who wants one.

A complete contents list would be quite lengthy but Dales highlights include:

* assorted Fountains Fell stuff (inc Foul Pot and the Gingling Hole master cave)
* various extensions in Penyghent Pot
* lots of new cave in Dentdale
* oodles of new stuff under Ingleborough (including the Foxholes extensions)
* a history of free climbing attempts up GG main shaft
* Malham Cove Rising
* various explorations in Chapel-le-Dale
* Major cave diving discoveries in Kingsdale and at Marble Steps Pot
* Ease Gill & Leck Fell stuff - including the Kirk Pot extensions and in Notts Pot
* several discoveries in Wharfedale - particularly the major extensions in Black Keld
* various new discoveries just outside the "main" Dales caving region.

All this for just ?16 if collected / delivered by caver post. (An extra charge would apply if you need it posting by Royal Mail.) If you want a copy go to the Northern Pennine Club's website where there's a contact email address just for journal sales. (Please don't send me a PM in the first instance; all sales need to go through one person who receives emails from the journal sales address.)

Enjoy  :)

You could call in on spec at the NPC HG (Greenclose, Clapham) and take your chance of some being available there but it's best to have arranged it beforehand via the right email address.

Small update - we're hoping a supply of these journals will be available in one or more caving outlets at Ingleton from some time during next weekend (19th / 20th). I think the plan is that they'll also be available soon from Starless River (i.e. anywhere in the UK, probably!)

It's more likely to be Sunday. (Sorry, if it was me who was in charge I could let you have some almost any time as I'm local - but the delivery person lives some distance away.)

However, get your customer to email the NPC sales person via the address displayed on the NPC website, to explain the situation - and they may be able to sort something out to get yours to you Saturday morning. (Can't promise but it's worth a try.)

Or just email yourself to explain. (Like quite a lot of cavers the person concerned doesn't use this forum, so won't have seen your post above.)

You sent me the link, I am going up there caving Saturday morning, but I won't have time to drop into Inglesport, if they email at journalenquires@northernpennineclub.org.uk I may be able to arrange to meet them near a cave entrance lol but email before Saturday morning!

Now I know who your mystery Saturday morning shopper is (as discussed yesterday) I'll try and nip over to Ingleton first thing Saturday morning and drop off a copy for you. The main shipment (and for Bernie's) will hopefully be arriving later in the weekend.

I did try to email said mystery shopper but I seem not to have his address on my system after all.

As per this thread conversation, we did take stock of NPC journals yesterday evening (well after you'd left Alex)

Based on the fact we sold most of them today (Sunday), please could someone drop some more, and if anybody would like one reserving, I suggest contacting us quickly!

We should be able to sort something out. Expect delivery Wednesday onwards. We need to get some more to Bernie's as well.

Alex - if you get desperate for a copy, send me a PM. But there should be plenty in Ingleton for the weekend after Christmas if you're up here.
