Ogof Rhyd Sych

I have a hankering to revisit Ogof Rhyd Sych after an interval of almost 25 years. Where is the recommended parking these days and are there any access issues?

No access issues so far as I am aware. Just walk up the valley and go down the cave.

So far as parking goes, I wouldn't regard anywhere in that area as particularly secure. Just don't leave anything of value in your car and hope it is not a burnt-out wreck when you get back!

I would park up in the estate below on the myther  side then just a short walk up - locals seem friendly an it is a bit out of myther but Nig's warning is worth concidering... local police nearly nicked my kit bag while i was washing me wellies after a trip in -y-ci last time me there.

i'm up for that trip if ya dont mind a slow person.

Are you sure this wasn't due to the fact that you might have just purchased something from them?!

No money no purchase...  As if OAP's would have anything worth purchasing... but then it is myrther post code... Have you had bad experience in myrther by any chance?

Thanks very much both for your replies.

If/when the trip occurs I'll pm you Alkapton. Warning: its a trip for my 12 and 15 year old sons who currently fit into a pair of second hand 4mm wetsuits hence the sudden interest in revisiting a wet but interesting pitchless cave. I also fancy revisitng it myself after all these years.
