Old Ing - Dismal Hill, free dives

It has been suggested to me to post a message on these forums regarding the current state of the dive lines in the through trip from Old Ing to Dismal Hill, as discovered on an attetmpted trip on Saturday.

There is currently no re-belay of the line into the airbell between the sumps. The line continues down into what we thought could be the second sump but appeared to be a blank wall with a roof above. We had to swim up into the airbell and it isn't possible to bring the line up into the airbell without help from someone already on the surface in the airbell, as the line is too tight. Everyone on the trip lost the line as they surfaced in the airbell due to its tightness, and I had to repeatedly dive down to 3m depth to regain the line. There also was confusion as there appeared to be re-belay knots in the rope that we assumed used to be attached to the bolt in the airbell.

In short, the sumps are currently very dangerous to attempt the free-dive without the line being replaced. For full details of what  happened I have already posted a report on the ULSA online rantbook. http://www.ulsa.org.uk/rants/rant.php?rant_id=566

(Ignore this post: information was already posted so I deleted what I wrote. Should have read the whole thread first!)
