Paul was a former chair and President of Subterranea Britannica and was an avid book collector he died in June 2021. Much of Paul’s collection has been gifted to the Historic England Library in Swindon and the The Common Room, home of the North of England Institute of Mining and Mechanical Engineers in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Paul was a great supporter of libraries and this will ensure the material is available to researchers and enthusiasts.
There are still books surplus to to the Library requirements which I have been asked to sell and the funds raised will go to projects dear to Pauls heart. these are listed on my website in categories https://www.moorebooks.co.uk/paul-sowan-books/ there is a category for Caving books .
There are more books to be added such British Mining series and the Mine explorer 3, 4 and 5 anyone interested in these pm me and I will forward a list
