Yeh, thats him, also Steve Tucker, I've got past that senior citizen moment, if he's still in the area it would be nice to have a chat if he can still remember the trips down there, although I am only on the outskirts of this project firing antique reminiscences.

OK, no probs, but I think we are straying from the thread, I will try to start a new one, I did think of "Armchair Caving" but in my case  "Orthopaedic Bar Stool Caving" might be more appropriate!.

Following on from the success of the 2010 Credit Crunch Expedition and last years renamed Peaks Expedition

The 2012 Peaks Expedition will be taking place, the last week in June and the first week in July

This years venue will be the TSG Chapel in Castleton where members rates will be charged @ ?3.00 per night.

Once again the aim of this gathering is to get diggers together over the two weeks, blitzing digs old and new.

2010 saw the discovery of Convenience Cave, last year saw the extensions in Lumbago Walk (Peak Cavern) and further extensions in the Wet West (Glebe Mine).

These projects would have been very difficult without consecutive days input.

Some of the projects listed for 2012 are Peak Cavern (various locations), Glebe Mine (various locations),

Gautries Hole, Bagshawe Cavern. & Gateham Swallet.

There are other minor projects to be looked at if numbers allow.

A Facebook group has been created - Peaks Expedition 2012

https://www.facebook.com/groups/371218942931063/

and regular updates will be given here on UK Caving

Please join the Facebook group or post at Uk Caving if, you are interested in joining us

Anyone with other projects please let us know

John Wilmot has suggested a dig at Good Luck Mine, involving a streamway and a shaft that needs clearing, and will be looking for volunteers during the Peaks Expedition.

Also Alan Walker at Poole's Cavern, hinted at the possibility of having a go at the boulder choke at the end, last time I saw him.

Would the Buttered Badgers mind if we had a bash at the bottom of Rowter?

Looks like Rowter is on the list now,

Poole's terminal choke? Now you're talking Mark!

Permission has been given by the cavern owners and Natural England for a small team to investigate the choke (there will be strict conditions) as the dates of the Peaks expedition clash with some other events at the cavern.

Had a long term dig in there a while ago, but gave it up and moved on to the moor to try the sink, but that dig fizzled out as well...

Surly not , if you apply 'in writing', with good notice.

After chatting at the TSG yesterday, it appears that virtually none of the committee (or anyone else we asked) is on Facebook - possibly a fine example of non-conformity in these techno-times, but the net result is that nobody at the Chapel really knows what's currently being discussed for the expedition. I didn't detect much enthusiasm for joining Facebook (I'm personally prevented by religious convictions), so was wondering if there was another place we could get some projects discussed? Getting some idea of the possible numbers will also help, if there are any confirmed yet.
