Portugal caving

Hi, I noticed that there was a posting on here regarding Portugal caving. I have done some caving near Porto Pollensa. The cave is near the new bridge along the river away from the town. It has two entrances and provides an interesting but short through trip. There is also a large chamber with a pool and sump which I attempted to dive but was blocked with very slimy river mud...nice cave though with lots of bats. I have also been in some interesting holes called furnas at Sagres and I have dived in some sea caves there also. Myself and a friend were responsble for putting up the first climbing routes at Sagres headland and I love the area.

Hi, Sorry I don't know if there is anymore info anywhere else...I will investigate and report back. The site mentioned are worth a look if you are out there on holiday. There is quite a lot of caving out there although mostly small. Robbie

The Cerberus went there a few years ago and found some minor stuff (they couldn't get to Morocco due to crowds). they wrote it up in the Cerberus Journal some time in the mid to late 80's.
