Random things in caves

Large rocket in Gaping Gill Main Chamber on a BPC winch meet.

Airbell full of tinkling light bulbs in a sump downstream of the old 5 Arches section of Peak Cavern show cave.

Underwater passage pre-decorated with tinsel on the day it was explored in Clapham Beck Head (after a flood in Ingleborough Cave had flushed away the Christmas grotto).

Walls ice cream box (aluminium) washed into one of the Far Canal outlets in Speedwell (recovered, bashed back into shape - and still used as a weekend grub box).

Ammo box in airbell in Giants Hole (in one of the streamway sumps) containing roll of elastoplast priced 1 shilling and 6 pence together with an immaculate carbide lamp with 1960s style wire hook (as opposed to 1970s-onwards helmet clip) - now on mantlepiece.

"Caution runners" sign in the entrance crawl in Daren.
Ah yes, I recall that one! There's also the "Confined Spaces" one in Cwm Dwr.

Plastic? turtles? in Turtle Crawl, Ireby.

There's a penguin in Dave Penney's Dig in Peak.

I loved the random items scattered through Daren, the fake arm in the sand was a favourite of mine.

Oh I forgot those signs at the bottom of Marble steps, something along the lines of "Directors office".

There's a Road Narrows sign just before the Rabbit Run in Old Ham iron mine (put there by RFDCC). In Oakwood Mill Deep mine there used to be 2 inflatable women and rumour has it the wrapping they came in complete with the address of the owner! :-\ I did find an inflatable woman in the carpark near to Brown's Folly.

Seeing as other folk have mentioned mines...

The flip-flop device in Lefel Fawr, Cwmystwyth that rang a bell. Destroyed around the late 1970s; replaced in the 1990s but expired due to rust and choking up with grit.

The minature waterwheel in Cwmorthin that powers some red LEDs.

You mentioning a flip flop device bought back the memory of myself and J Rat installing one in Magpie Mine it was situated in the first level up the shaft from sough level and it pounded a very large air reciever every minute or so. Went into the sough on a PDMHS meet but could'nt get to see if it was still working because of a sough collapse just before the main shaft

That wheel powers a bit more than just the LEDs :)

I have that Fat Freddy's Cat comic somewhere. I just bought the omnibus edition with all the Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers adventures.

There used to be a "road narrows" sign at the entrance to Stile Pot (advt), till someone nicked it.

It used to come in handy when explaining to gullible tourists that it was being dug on an EEC grant to keep OAP's off the streets - we told them it was the start of a new Interdales motorway.....

Andy Watson's flower arrangement in Daren :)
If I had to drag that bloody thing through the entrance crawl, I think it'd be positioned about 10 metres in!!

At the end of the day, it's all litter and its introduction into the fragile cave environment should be deplored ;-P

Not sure of the name of the place - West Twin Brook Adit maybe ? But someone had put a couple of cats eyes at the end of the tunnel which scared the hell out of me tonight (yes I'm easily scared).
