Recomendations for a trip abroad in easter

Hello.
The university club that I'm with has a (sport not expo) caving trip abroad every year in the Easter holidays. This year we're a bit stuck for ideas where to go. Ideally the place would fulfil some of the below;

Be in France or Spain
Have a caving guidebook that covers it
Exist relatively near an airport and somewhere that accommodates cavers
Not require too much rope
Not suffer from excessive rain or meltwater at that time of year

Last year we went to Slovenia and stayed in Speleocamp, which was good fun. Any suggestions for where to go would be much appreciated.

I might have suggested Matienzo, but not if you're just going to do sport trips - sorry !

Mallorca is pretty good. Not sure about a guidebook but there's plenty of information online. If you're interested in lava tubes Lanzarote is brilliant.

Felix Throbe - France, its about an hour away from a major city has masses of caves most of which don't require tons of rope. Many trips available from  short romps to massive through trips, using pull throughs. Only issue is I am not sure what information is about, we just happened to have the surveys in the YSS library so used them.

Oh I don't know, "Felix Throbe" has a certain resonance. A bit Kenneth Williams?

I see what you mean... possibly next door to Grotte J. Peasemold Gruntfuttock?

Perhaps we should leave it there .

Hello students - perhaps you've decided to stay closer to home as Graham Norton said.

I'm sure there is some stuff out there in English too if you talk to some of the clubs that go there regularly (I thinking of BPC and some of the Mendip ones)

In fact half of the BPC are out there at the moment. I'm sure they will have plenty of recommendations for good sport caving.

I  would recommend Matienzo in North Spain.  Ok there is much exploration there to do, but there is also vast amounts of well known cave for every level of  ability.  A fantastic award winning book with dvd etc. is available, the locals are friendly, the beer is shite for the most part but vino tinto is cheep.  I can't recommend this place enough... its  the Llangattok on steroids - over 3000 holes - most need exploring but many fine caves and through trips to die for.  Plus you can get to see cave art, and if you get bored with caves there is nearby a Spanish Inquisition museum full of toys that will amuse sadists and masochists alike.

Well you got a choice... San Miguel or San Miguel, some places even serve San Miguel or you can get San Miguel if you try hard.  Snake bite? you got no chance ;-(

... or Estrella, or Mahou, or Dorada, or Cruzcampo. Cruzcampo Glacial is a fine sip, served in a frozen glass. There's other derivatives and non-branded beers too, btw.

How about the Doubs? Lots of caves, including the grand traverse of the Verneau.
Via Ferrata's at Nan Sous St Anne, camping at a caver friendly camp site just outside Ornans.
Lots to do

Thanks all for the advice. Looks like we'll do some research into F?lix Trombe and the Doubs. Mallorca and Matienzo are both good suggestions, but the club has been to the former a few times recently and will be going to the latter in the summer.
