Red River, Nettle - no bad air Sept 2011

Went down Nettle on Saturday 3 September 2011 as far as Red River (we got to the point where there's a pothole in the floor and a climb round to the left); no evidence of bad air. Rather a nice trip in fact, though a bolt or two on Beza wouldn't go amiss....

Didn't go into Hell, and I think the Dratsab is around the corner from where we stopped, so can't comment on that.

Out of interest - have the avens in Red River been climbed?? Whilst they're probably blind (no draught....) it may be an interesting project.

I climbed the 2nd to last aven in the Red River Series in the Middle 90's and got to the top about 40 ft tall and the rift closes up, I used Assortment of Climbing gear and then, Rigged an abseil to get down if memory serves me correctly.

The last aven is an easier climb but comes to the same conclusion, about 35ft ish tall,

The old Frank Brown of the DCC in the dratsab series, goes down 2 rope handlines, and then into a low Chamber with various digs from it but bad air is encouterd after about half an hour down there, so the dig was abandoned,
Not sure if any other people have dug down there since???
