Repair for Viper Light?

My Viper light doesn't want to charge. The charger blinks three times like it ought to, but then the charging light stays stubbornly blank. Is anybody offering repair work on these lamps now, or shall I chuck it in the bin?
Has anyone else had this problem and found a fix?

We had a Viper that stopped working. It was just inside the years warranty. I contacted Viper, posted it off and was rapidly fixed and returned.

On his website it says:
"I see your warranty is 12 months, will you leave me forever after that?: Of course not. This product is used in a very harsh environment, so 12 months warranty is reasonable. After that we will do the best we can to help you, although in some cases this may incur a reasonable charge."

Contact the Viper man direct and ask what he can do.

Hi Ship-badger,

Cap'n Chris may already have PM'd you this, but... Did you leave it connected for a long time? The little blue LED that flashes to let you know it's connected to the battery will eventually drain the battery, and it sort of goes into a "self protection" mode, which causes it to sulk when the charger is connected. This happened to me once, and I thought either the lamp or the charger was broken...
When I asked Reuben about it, all was explained, and the solution was just to leave it on charge until normal charging resumed: I left it on charge overnight, and all was fine.  (y)
Hopefully that's the issue and yours isn't broken!

Cheers,
Neil

UKCaving comes up trumps again. Thanks for the advice. I left it connected, and after about an hour the charging light came on as normal. I had pretty much drained the battery on the last trip, so it had gone into "sulk" mode.
Its good to know that support is available if I do need it; it's a great lamp and I'd be lost without it. It's the best biking lamp I've ever had too.
