Monday nights edition 9.00-10.00pm BBC ONE (12 November 2012) of this programme should feature Egyptian Fruit Bats flying in Redcliffe Caves Bristol.

Ropes were suspended from the ceiling in an obstacle course arrangement for bats to fly through in complete darkness. Their echo location calls were picked up by a ring of microphones and converted via computer to light signals which can be seen bouncing off the cave walls and the strings.

Should be interesting.

The same show included a low frequency transmitter designed for mine rescue, based on how elephants communicate.

Just got back from feeding geese with my niece.
Egyptian Geese.
Ugly bastards but they were gently taking the bread from her fingers, these were wild, how did they get here,
fly or introduced  :-\

If they are the ones I'm thinking of, they were introduced as fast growing meat birds, probably escaped and gone feral.
