"Dear All,
I am sorry to have to inform those of you who don't already know that Dave Edwards passed away peacefully last Thursday in Ashgate Hospice near Chesterfield. Dave had been fighting cancer for some time.
All of you will remember or know of Dave as a caving and outdoor pursuits instructor - many years at Whitehall and more recently as a freelance operator. Most will also remember Dave for his many years of association with DCRO.
Dave joined as a team member sometime in the late 1970's and went on to hold many posts in the organisation - Assistant Equipment Officer (1981 - 1983), Equipment Officer (1984), Training Officer (1992), Chairman (1997 - 1998) and a Controlleror (1985 - 2002). The last call out Dave attended was in November 2003 to Thirst House Cave.
Dave's cremation service will take place at Macclesfield Crematorium on
Tuesday 8 February at 11.30 a.m. If you need any further details please contact Mellor & Smith who are making the funeral arrangements. Their telephone number is 01298.77703.
I have sent this e-mail to all those in my e-mail address book who might
