Savoie caves information

We are going to the Speleology Congress in France in July, mainly to visit some of the caves that they will have rigged. A couple of cavers don't do vertical, so I am after any information you can give me on horizontal caves in that area, without any pitches.
We will be staying in St-Offenge dessus.
Any information gratefully received.

I've never been myself so can't vouch for it as a trip, but I lived in that area for a bit and have read a few bits about the Grotte de Balme above Magland (about an hour's drive away from you). It's not far from a road/parking and is used by guided adventure groups / Scouts sort of trips but with plenty of further reaches to extend the trip to. I think it's quite well-known and almost all horizontal. I'm sure there'll be other horizontal trips closer but might still be of interest

Could be worth getting in touch with the local club

A lot of the rigged caves are on the Massif des Bauges. The Choranche river flows from Lescheraines to Rumilly (north) passing Arith where there are some relatively recent discoveries, including a through trip. Just after Lescheraines is the Grotte de Pre Rouge, no ropes required for a good trip, just hang right after the last Laminour to find the chimney into the main stream passage! Also, down the valley, is the Grotte de l'eau Morte and the grottes des Banges all quite interesting and no tackle required.
