Am going to Scrafton Pot this afternoon, anyone know if it's got spits- ones that are less than 10yrs old perhaps? or any other info on rigging?

Spits at Scrafton? Yes I think so  :-\ - was I right?
What I did remember was the sewage down the hole  from overspilling ses pits.
Is that still there or is it now clean?

No need for spit hangers at Scrafton- it can alll be rigged off in-situ hangers/ bolts (not p-bolts) They all seemed to be of a reasonable quality. I was really impressed with the cave in general- lots of places to explore plus a large pitch at the start (large for the Northern Dales anyway)

However, the smell of sewage in one of the upper areas was pretty bad- I was planning on scoffing a toffee crisp whilst down there but ended up not being able to for fear of digesting some vile disease from the water/ mud I was covered in.

I went to bed on Saturday with an awful headache and still had it on Sunday morning- If I feel ill again in the next few days I'll go to Doctors- I reckon if you're going to get Weils disease anywhere at the moment that would be a very good place to start (?)

The sewage is such a shame. It is such a scenic spot for a cave with nice pitch with traverse over the top to parallel pitch that's slightly better, good round trip at the bottom and more. Graham worth you checking things out with the doctor (did you have any open cuts?) don't forget to mention possibility of weils disease as not all doctors are familiar with it plus the medication does not do you harm even if you have not got the disease.

cheers for that- I am considering a visit to doctors, I got quite a few cuts to my hands from the trip - some areas of the cave have quite sharp rocks - probably better to be safe and find out, but no symptoms so far.....
