For the first time in the 10 years since the Diving Scurion has existed, we have to issue a product warning:
Since the end of 2021, we have had isolated cases of lamp glasses with hairline cracks around the screws, which have caused leaks at the lamp head, among the repair cases. Less than 2% of all lamps in circulation are affected and unfortunately the problem cannot be isolated - the oldest affected lamps are from 2016 and 2017, so it may simply be a case of material fatigue and only occur sporadically.
In any case, everyone should please check their lamps in this regard - the cracks look like this picture and can also be seen by the naked eye. If the cracks go beyond the O-ring, the lamp head may be leaking.
In such a case, please contact us with the address and serial number of the lamp (service@scurion.ch) and we will send you a replacement glass that can be easily replaced yourself - it is not necessary to send in the whole lamp.
This problem only concerns the diving lamps - for the other lamps ("Speleo" and "Basic") the same glass is used, but of course there is not such a high pressure load. Also, no lamps with UV option have been affected.
We continue to observe and document the phenomenon and I would like to apologize to all concerned for the possible circumstances! Rolf

My Dive Scurion has developed a leak.
How small are the cracks, what is the best way to see/find them if they are there?
