Is anyone else having problems accessing this?

I tried last night and again this morning but Google Chrome is blocking it, saying it contains malware.

I looked at it yesterday morning before going caving and it worked fine.

Excellent resource in fact.

Further details, maybe a false alarm, but maybe not....

Has Google had a sudden increase in enthusiasm? I've been using Google (not chrome) for years and never seeing any warning, now in two days I've had two warnings - Settle hydro, and one of the railway museums at Ingrow.

Oh dear - I know nowt about computers but, in case it helps, I drove past the wier and used my eyeballs this morning and the river at the wier is lower than it has been since before Christmas. (But it's still nowhere near "low", if you take my meaning.)

Firefox also displays the warning. I suggest you visit:- reliablyrebroadcast.org

Makes for sobering reading, esp. these bits:-

    Malicious software includes 3 trojan(s).

Over the past 90 days, reliablyrebroadcast.org appeared to function as an intermediary for the infection of 7 site(s) including speshsworld.com/, st8mnt.com/, updateordie.com/.

Yes, this site has hosted malicious software over the past 90 days. It infected 1555 domain(s),

The webcam site obviously has some link to the above domain and that is why the warning is coming up.

Anyone know if the Settle wiercam website is safe to visit again yet?

Incidentaly I went to Settle for some coal this morning and noticed that the water was down further at the wier; it wasn't flowing over the whole width today. Slightly lower than when I posted about it a day or so ago.

Well done Mike - that's also a useful source (as are loads of other Environment Agency monitoring stations). The Settle Hydro Wiercam is good though because it gives you a view of what so many cavers are familiar from simply by glancing at the wier as they drive past on the road northwards out of Settle. I hope this problem does get fixed because that webcam is immensely useful.

I assume that this webcam has something to do with the Environment Agency? So has anyone told them that there's a problem?

I don't think it is, Graham. It's part of a hydroelectricity generating project on the Ribble which is set up (I think) as a private company with shareholders - but as a sort of community scheme.

I've wondered about trying to contact someone myself but I don't really understand these computer problems too well; it'd perhaps be better if someone more knowledgeable who lives around here had a word.

Just tried it with FF and it worked fine

How did you get to it? Via the main Settle hydro page or direct to the webcam page?
My FF is OK about the main page, but it's still warning about the webcam page. But might be a hangover from the last time I tried.

It is now up and running again on Google Chrome...Woo hoo!

I can now sit at home and see why I can't go caving.  ;)
