Following a report from Mark Ireland about possible loose rocks in the entrance shaft among the ginging a recce trip established this to be the case. The main concern are two rocks right at the base of the ginging (still some 6-7m above the bottom of the shaft) directly below the line of the in-situ ladder. The rocks move under load and are sufficiently large to cause a major problem if they collect a caving ladder on their descent or hit someone below!
Unfortunately they are convenient foot holds for ascending cavers who may not realise they move.

Work will be undertaken in the next couple of days to stablise the rocks.
